The receiver of the Phonak Audeo L-RT hearing aid is placed directly within the ear canal, making them receiver-in-canal (RIC) devices. Because of their design, they are prone to earwax and debris collection, therefore maintaining optimal performance requires routine cleaning.
Receiver and Domes:
- Detach the dome from the receiver (if removable).
- Use a specialised cleaning cup filled two-thirds with warm water to soak the dome for 30 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly, dry completely, and reattach the dome.
- Use a soft brush or wax pick to clear debris from the sound outlet and wax guards.
Hearing Aid Body
- Use cleaning wipes made specifically for hearing aids to clean the main body.
- Steer clear of water and household cleaners that could harden the interior parts.
Storage
- Store your hearing aids in a clean, dry case when not in use.
- Use a drying box or dehumidifier to eliminate moisture and extend the lifespan of your devices.
